Wellbeing Therapies

Mind, Body and Soul

These are individual body treatments inspired by traditional cultures. Our therapist will establish your personal needs & tailor your treatment around these.

Holistic Massage

The holistic approach takes into account a person’s whole being & looks at treating both the body & mind. Holistic massage is a treatment used to maintain physical health & wellbeing, as well as inducing relaxation. Massage improves the body in many ways including: reducing physical tension in the muscles, increasing circulation, which brings nourishment to the skin & underlying tissues, it stimulates & soothes the nerve endings, improves the skin’s elasticity & texture & promotes a sense of well being.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage has its roots in old Ayurvedic techniques. The treatment involves massage of the upper back, arms, neck, face & scalp. This is a therapy that induces deep relaxation & aids concentration; it provides relief for mental, as well as physical stress. The treatment relieves headaches, eyestrain & muscular tension in the neck & shoulders; it also stimulates the circulation, restores joint movement & gives you a sense of wellbeing. Indian head Massage will also help you sleep at night & allow you to recover vital energy.

Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy

Sports & Remedial Therapy covers the management, manipulation & rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body. It can help with performance, injury prevention & injury recovery. Sports Massage will have effects on the physiological (reducing pain & tension), physiological (improving range of movement & promoting muscle relaxation) & physical (loosening adhesions & mobilizing muscle fibres) aspects of an athlete. It can help with injuries like: Shin Splints; Runners Knee; Tennis/Golfers Elbow & Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is perhaps one of the most popular complementary therapies. It has a traditional history that goes back to the ancient Egyptians, Greeks & Romans. Essential oils work directly on the chemistry of the body and are suitable for people of all ages. The massage uses chosen essential oils produced naturally by plants & trees to actively work on a range of emotional & physical elements to improve & aid wellbeing.

Reflexology Foot Treatment

Reflexology has over a 5000 year history & was used in ancient Egypt, China & Far East. Reflex areas in the feet correspond with parts of the body, so reflexology treats the body as a whole. These points are massaged to unblock energy channels in the body & heal the damage caused by the blockages. The treatment encourages the body to heal itself & return to an optimum state of healthy functioning. Reflexology can be used to treat specific health conditions, but can also be used as a diagnostic tool to detect imbalances that you may not have been aware of. Reflexology is effective in treating many conditions.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle & relaxing treatment that activates the circulation of the tissues & stimulates the immune & nervous systems. This treatment serves to detoxify the body & regenerate tissues. Lymphatic Drainage has many health benefits such as relief from pain & inflammation. It helps to speed up recovery after illness or an operation & can make a substantial contribution to overall health, as well as inducing relaxation & it has an anti-aging effect. If the lymphatic system is sluggish, it affects many other functions within the body, however, when working properly the lymph system drains fluids, detoxifies, regenerates tissues, filters out toxins & helps to maintain a healthy immune system.

The number of treatments that are required will depend on your level of health, 3 treatments are often sufficient for most people.

Thermo-Auricular Therapy with Face Massage

Thermo-Auricular Therapy (or ear candling) has been used by healers from many countries for centuries. Ear Candling is a gentle therapy that clears the mind & senses. It can relieve sinusitis, rhinitis, earwax, earache, ear glue, hay fever, irritation to the ear including tinnitus & can help with a common cold. It is also suitable for the treatment of headaches & migraines. We use ear candles based on the traditional recipes by the Hopi (meaning people of peace) Indian’s, known for their deeply spiritual nature & extensive knowledge of healing. The ear candles are made of organic cotton flax impregnated with honey extracts, sage, camomile, St John’s Wort & beeswax. The face massage assists the candle’s benefit by stimulating the lymphatic system & the use of traditional acupressure points work on the sinuses.

To gain maximum benefits a course of 3 treatments is recommended
